Call us immediately on 01962 000 000 โ€” do not approach a damaged or unstable tree.

What we deal with

From a single fallen branch to whole trees brought down by storms โ€” we handle all tree-related emergencies safely and efficiently.

๐ŸŒช๏ธ

Storm Damage

Trees and large branches brought down or destabilised by wind and storms. We assess, make safe and clear the site โ€” including debris from driveways, roofs and boundaries.

โš ๏ธ

Dangerous or Leaning Trees

A tree that’s suddenly leaning, cracked at the base, or shedding heavy limbs is a serious hazard. We’ll inspect it promptly and advise on the safest course of action.

๐Ÿšง

Fallen Trees & Blocked Access

Trees across roads, driveways or pathways โ€” whether on your property or fallen from a neighbour’s. We clear safely and quickly to restore access and remove the risk.

What to do right now

If a tree has fallen or is showing signs of failure, your safety comes first. Follow these steps while you wait for us to arrive.

1

Keep everyone away

Establish a safe distance from the tree โ€” at least twice its height. Do not let children or pets near it.

2

Check for hazards

Look for downed power lines, gas pipes or structural damage to buildings. If utilities are affected, call the relevant emergency service before us.

3

Don’t try to move it yourself

A tree under tension can shift suddenly when cut. Leave it exactly as it is โ€” attempting DIY removal is extremely dangerous.

4

Call us

Ring 01962 000 000 and describe what’s happened. We’ll advise you over the phone and get to you as quickly as we can.

5

Document for insurance

Once it’s safe, take photos for your insurer. We can provide a written report of our findings if required.

When we arrive

Our team assesses the situation first, then works methodically to make the site safe.

  • Full site assessment before any cutting begins
  • Sectional dismantling to protect buildings and structures
  • Controlled lowering of heavy limbs
  • All timber and debris cleared from site
  • Stump left safe or ground out on request
  • Written report available for insurance purposes

Protected trees โ€” what the law allows

In a genuine emergency, immediate action to remove an imminent risk to life or property is permitted โ€” even on a TPO tree.

  • Emergency works to remove immediate danger are exempt from TPO consent
  • You must notify the council within 5 days of emergency work
  • Works should be limited to what is strictly necessary to address the danger
  • We document everything clearly to support your notification

TPO trees and emergency situations

Normally, working on a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) tree requires prior consent from the local council โ€” but the rules are different in a genuine emergency.

If a protected tree has fallen or poses an immediate threat to life or property, emergency works are permitted without advance consent. You do, however, need to notify the council promptly afterwards.

We’re experienced with TPO trees and the application process โ€” if your tree is protected and the situation isn’t an immediate emergency, we’ll handle the consent before any work begins.

Common questions

Answers to what people usually ask after storm damage or a tree emergency.

We aim to respond as quickly as possible โ€” call us on 01962 000 000 and we’ll give you an honest ETA based on our current schedule. After a major storm event, demand across the county rises sharply, so the earlier you call the better.

Get everyone out of the affected area first. If there’s structural damage, contact your home insurer straight away โ€” they may have an emergency helpline. Then call us. We can make the tree safe and provide a written report for your insurance claim. Do not try to remove it yourself.

Generally, you’re responsible for clearing debris that lands on your property, regardless of where the tree came from โ€” though your neighbour may be liable if the tree was known to be diseased or dangerous and they failed to act. Your home insurer is the right starting point. We can deal with the physical clearance for either party.

No โ€” if there is an immediate risk to life or property, emergency works are permitted on TPO trees without advance consent. You must notify the local authority within 5 days, and works should be limited to removing the immediate danger. We’re fully experienced with this process. For non-urgent work on protected trees, see our TPO applications page.

Yes โ€” a storm-damaged tree that’s been partially cleared may still have internal decay, root damage or structural weakness that isn’t obvious. Our tree health survey can assess the remaining tree and tell you whether it’s safe to keep, needs pruning, or should come down. Better to know early than face another emergency later.
