A clear picture of your tree’s condition

How It Works

From booking to report in five steps

1

Book a visit

Tell us about the tree and what the survey is for, and we’ll arrange a convenient time.

2

On-site inspection

Our qualified arborist examines the tree from the ground, checking health, structure and condition.

3

Assess the risk

We consider the tree’s condition alongside its surroundings โ€” targets, usage and location.

4

Written report

You’ll receive a clear written report covering our findings and any recommendations.

5

Next steps

If work is needed, we’ll quote for it โ€” and handle any TPO or Conservation Area paperwork.

What’s in a tree health survey?

Every survey is tailored to what you need it for, but most cover the same core ground โ€” so you get a clear, usable record of the tree’s condition.

  • Species, age and overall condition of each tree
  • Structural defects, decay, cracks or dieback
  • Any pest or disease issues identified
  • Recommendations for any remedial work, with priority

If a survey identifies work that’s needed โ€” from pruning to deadwood removal or, in rare cases, removal โ€” we can carry it out ourselves, and handle any TPO application the work requires.

Tree survey questions, answered

Our NPTC-qualified arborists, who assess tree health and structure as part of their everyday work.

A general health survey looks at a tree’s condition and any work needed. A BS 5837 survey is the specific format required for planning applications on development sites โ€” see our property developer services.

It’s a sensible step if there are mature trees on or near the property, especially if they’re large, close to the house, or look like they may need work.

Only if it genuinely does. Most surveys result in routine maintenance recommendations โ€” we’ll never recommend removal unless it’s the right call.

Most domestic surveys are completed on-site within an hour or two, with the written report following shortly after.

Yes โ€” we can carry out any recommended work ourselves, from pruning to removal, and handle TPO or Conservation Area applications if needed.
